Keats' letters to Fanny Brawne are
among the most famous and romantic love letters ever written. They knew
each other as next door neighbours and had exchanged passionate short notes
occasionally. It seems that Keats was often disturbed by Brawne’s
behaviour because of the uncertainty of her affection. She was at first puzzled
and annoyed towards him. However, when he was sick, their relationship grew. They
were engaged and deeply in love when he left for Rome.
In his letter to Brawne, Keats is fascinated when she wrote
that she’ll be kinder to him. His passion grew for her. In his letters, it is
clear that Keats is good using the language emotionally to manipulate the words
used to describe his miseries if Brawn had ever believed what was told against
him. Keats achieves his purpose through his serious and melodramatic tone.
